Terms of Use

These terms are an agreement between you and Andika Sentosa Putra, British Columbia, Canada, who operates Transcut Studio (“we”, “us”). By installing or using Transcut Studio (the “app”) you agree to them. Questions: [email protected].

Purchases are made through Lemon Squeezy, which acts as our reseller (merchant of record); its terms of sale also apply to your purchase.

1. Your licence

We give you a personal, non-transferable licence to install and use the app, on the plan you have:

• Free: your first 3 exports include every feature. After that, exports are up to 1080p with a small watermark, and some tools (automatic captions, sound clean-up, the cleanup suggestions in Review, and Remove silences) are available only on a paid plan.
• Pro (one-time purchase): all features, no watermark, up to 4K, on up to 3 computers at a time. It includes updates for 1 year from purchase. After that, the version you have keeps working; you can optionally buy another year of updates.
• Monthly: all features while your subscription is active, on up to 3 computers. You can cancel at any time; it keeps working until the end of the period you paid for.

The app checks your licence when it starts and about once a day while you’re online. If it can’t check for a while, it keeps working: 7 days for monthly plans, and 30 days for Pro. After that it works as the Free version until it can check again. You never lose access to your projects.

You may move your licence to another computer by deactivating it on the old one (in Settings).

2. Your content stays yours

Your videos, audio, transcripts and exports belong to you. The app processes them on your computer; we never receive them and claim no rights in them. You may use your exports for any purpose, including commercial work, on every plan (on the Free plan after the first 3 exports, with the watermark).

You’re responsible for having the right to edit and publish the material you use.

3. What you may not do

• Share, sell or publish your licence key, or use one licence on more computers than your plan allows.
• Get around the licence checks, the watermark or the plan limits, or modify the app to do so.
• Use the app to break the law or to infringe other people’s rights.

Nothing here limits your rights under the open-source licences of the third-party components listed in the app (Settings → Licences). For example, you may replace the included FFmpeg programs with your own build.

4. Updates and changes

We may update the app to fix problems, add features or keep it working with new operating systems. Updates you’re entitled to are offered in the app. We won’t remove features from a version you’ve paid for.

5. Refunds and ending a licence

Refunds are described in our Refund Policy. If a purchase is refunded or charged back, or a licence key is shared publicly or obtained fraudulently, we may deactivate that key; the app then works as the Free version.

6. No warranty

We work hard to make the app reliable, but it’s provided “as is”. To the extent the law allows, we don’t promise that it will be error-free or suit every purpose. Keep your original files: the app never changes them, but back up anything important.

7. Limit of liability

To the extent the law allows, we aren’t liable for indirect or consequential losses (such as lost profits or lost data), and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for the app in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer-protection laws that can’t be excluded.

8. Ending these terms

You can stop using the app at any time by uninstalling it. We may end your licence if you seriously break these terms; we’ll tell you why.

9. Law

These terms are governed by the laws of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada that apply there, without taking away any protection the law of your own country gives you as a consumer.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We’ll change the date above and, for important changes, tell you in the app or by email. Changes never reduce what you’ve already paid for.
